What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

WYSC's Academy Program is a travel-readiness program for players 6, 7,and 8 years of age but with enthusiasm for further play (players with atleast a year of touches on a soccer ball). These ages are fundamentally important in a soccer player building native intution for the game. The program targets physiological and technical development, specifically improving their soccer reflexes and field awareness. All training is provided with a view towards players competing on a travel squad in the future.
WYSC’s academy program is a three-season program running from the early Fall through the following Spring season. In both the Fall and Spring seasons players will have training once a week on Monday evenings or Saturday afternoons for 1 hour each session. During the winter, players will train inside at WYSC’s indoor gym once a week during the weekday (day TBD) for 1 hour each session.
Academy training is co-ed and the weekday times for each age group will follow;
U6 Academy 5:30-6:30
U7 Academy 6:30-7:30
U8 Academy 7:30-8:30
Players many participate for a single season, multiple seasons or multiple years; however, players maybe also have the opportunity to join a travel team at the end of a season based on mutal intersted of a player/team/parent. Further travel-program details are provided during on-boarding, or by checking the travel page. We are always here to answer any questions and can provide a thorough overview/details.
