NOTE: aside from black shoes, referees coming from outdoor season shouldn't need to purchase any special/new gear for futsal officiating.

While WYSC tries to balance games assigned to all registered referees the following criteria is used when assigning games:

Professionalism: Displayed in the past when referring and working with WYSC.

Seniority: Indiviudals who referee with us regularly.

Availability: Wthe more available you are during the season.

Experience: new referees will begin with the younger groups.

‚ÄčNote that referees will always be assigned a minimum of 2 games per day. [except for exceptional circumstances, during a referee wouls be contacted explicitly].

Referees are scheduled/expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their matches. Arriving at match start time is considered tardy. Tardyness to a match will dock pay for that match. Scheduled referees who don't show up to a match will be dismissed from all assign games for the remainder of the season.

Referees are an essential part of the successful operation of the travel and recreational soccer programs at Warrenton Youth Sports Club. Accordingly, we make every effort to reward our most dedicated and experienced referees.

 Experience  Scale
 General Referee   30$ / match
Futsal Certified Referee  35$ / match

The above pay scales are base rates that we reserve the option to adjust according to the performance of a referee. However at the end of the season, your scale level might increase if you meet the following conditions:

  • experience
  • performance before, during and after all games
  • communication
  • proper uniforms
  • attendance at mandatory meeting and any training events.
  • acceptance of assigned games via email from website
  • attendance to all games assigned to you.

6. PLAYER UNIFORMS

Each team will be assigned a distinct color at the begining of the futsal season. Players must wear t-shirt and socks matching their team color. As the referee, shirt/socks choices is up to your discretion.

Players must have both t-shirt and socks of their color; not having both is grounds for barring the player from the match. Everybody participating will be well informed about the policy.

NO TEAM WILL BE ASSIGNED BLACK OR YELLOW. No player is permited wear either of those colors [Note: "black" is not "almost navy" or "almost blue"-- its not an excuse]. We have reserved the colors of black and yellow for the referees.

Although we may have colored WYSC jerseys players may purchase, they are NOT required. Please don't limit anybody from playing for not wearing WYSC clothes.

Referee game-report form: REPORT.PDF

The red card form will be posted before season's start.

Score tracking is everybody's responsibility (referee, home coach, visiting coach).  However, as the referee, it is your responsibility for submitting a game report after the game. Copies are immediately above; the office will have copies printed on-hand if need be. The referee should pick up copies before his/her matches.

The referee will need to record the score, yellow cards, and any other relevant information. S/He will be required to get the signature of both coaches; this ensures a final score is conferred upon and scores cannot be contested at a later date.

Futsal is hosted at the WYSC gym and thus there will be a WYSC employee there at all times. Game reports are submitted to the WYSC representitive immediately after the match by the home coach.

9 REPORTING RED CARDS

A seperate form is provided above for red cards; these should be handled with extra dilligence and professionalism. A thorough report helps document and prevent contests later. We expect coaches and players to behave themselves with respect. However, since red cards can inevitably sharply flare emotions, we are here to support the referees and will keep any eye out.

10 FUTSAL BALLS

All match balls are provided by the WYSC gym. It is your responsibility to gather a ball before the match, ensure it is inflated, and that it returns to the gym office. Coaches and players may bring their own to practice with but match balls will be provided.
